The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has notified the Environment Protection (End-of-Life Vehicles) Rules, 2025 in January 2025 for implementation of EPR in End-of-Life Vehicles from 1.4.2025.

As per the provisions, all operative RVSFs( Registered Vehicles Scrapping Facilities) have to register with CPCB EPR portal as RVSFs. And on the other hand the Importer Manufacturer, Brand owner of “all types of vehicle defined under clause (28) of section 2 of the motor vehicle Act 1988 and includes an electrical vehicle, e-rickshaw or e-cart but shall not apply to agricultural tractor, agricultural trailer, combine harvester and Power tiller” who will register as Producer.
